Happy Birthday to Grandpap Alzo

Today would have been my paternal grandfather's 115th birthday.

I never knew my Grandpap Alzo--he passed away two years before I was born.  He was 67 and died from a massive heart attack at home while painting the back porch.  Ironically, earlier that day he had served as a pallbearer at the funeral for one of his closest friends.

I'm sad that I missed out on the opportunity to spend time with my grandfather.  But, through genealogy I at least have an opportunity to learn a bit about his life.

Below is a copy of his baptismal certificate from Kucsin, Slovakia obtained from microfilm copy from Presov, Slovakia archives [with thanks to my cousin Renata].

Happy Birthday, Pap!
